A
student in a rural school drew a cross in his
notebook one day. His teacher asked him to see
her after class. It turns out another one of
the Christian teachers had shared the good news
in class. After she and others had shared the
good news more fully to him, he was asked,
“Would you like to think about it some more?”
He replied that he already had thought about it
a lot and wanted to become a Christian. It was
not long before several of his friends
heard about his decision, wanted to hear more
and then also wanted to follow Christ!
As a result of this wonderful
news, the teacher who had shared in class was
confronted by the principal. She could have
been reported to higher authorities or lost her
job, since it is illegal to share the gospel
with anyone under the age of 18. She was given
a warning and told not to share the gospel in
class again. She was also told that she could
not have any visitors at the school apart from
her family. Please pray for these new believers
as well as the two Christian teachers still at
the school who are also relatively new
believers. Please pray that they would have the
opportunity to learn and grow in their faith as
well as wisdom in sharing this good news with
others.
Praise:
- For several new Zhuang
believers at a rural school.
- For various people that
have come to serve in Zhuang areas in
various ways over the summer. We give thanks
for the opportunities they have had to
serve, build friendships and at times share
the good news.
Pray:
- For God's protection and revelation to these
new believers. That they would be faithful
witnesses in their own villages as well as
at school where they live and study.
- That God would give wisdom in following up
these young new believers (apparently the
principal even warned against people going
to the students villages as well).
- Pray for ministry being done on university
campuses in another province. Prayer for
wisdom in finding a good, private place for
people to study the Word of God.
- One prefecture, that has
a lot of Zhuang, does not have any official
3 Self church representation. The only
religions with a “voice” in the government
are currently Islam, Catholicism, and
Buddhism. Pray that officials would have a
way of determining who are true believers
and who are advocating some kind of cult.
- Pray for various business
enterprises that are being established to
facilitate work in Zhuang areas.
- Pray for the Day of
Prayer for the Zhuang. Ask the Lord to call
more works to labour in the harvest overseas
and in Zhuang areas.
