Ground Gained is Contested
Last August a Phuan couple decided to start a little house church in their small kitchen. There were a total of 5 the first Sunday – all immediate family members. Since then it has been slowly and quietly growing. They outgrew their kitchen so this couple has bought a nearby house for a bigger place to meet.

About once a month some Christians from the capital city have been coming up to encourage and teach this little new group of believers. Two weeks ago a Christian Lao lady came from the capital city and 32 people were in attendance. At the end of her message she asked if anyone there would like to decide to follow Jesus. Four adults and eight children said, “Yes”.

Isn't it true that whenever there is blessing and advance Satan attacks?  One week later, the younger brother of the leading couple of this house church went down with something. He was taken to the local hospital and at times needed four men to hold him down. He also said strange things - speaking against the house group leading couple but at the same time he seemed to recognize a 'presence' within them and was considerably quieter when they were with him.

Eventually, the family decided to take him down to some Christians in the capital city to pray for him. However, when they got there, the father and three of the non-Christian brothers refused to go in and after some discussion took him to the hospital instead. After a lot of prayer, the afflicted man was taken to a Sunday morning group of believers in the capital city and the leaders prayed for him, with some immediate results.
